From Outside New York

From the airports:

Taxis:
Taxis have set rates to Manhattan. Please use ONLY licensed yellow taxis found at the official Taxi Stand outside the airport doors. There will be an airport official who will direct you to the next available cab in line and you should receive an official receipt with the cost of the trip before you get into the taxi. Do not pay more than this amount plus any tolls; you may tip the driver an additional 10% - 15%.
For more information please visit www.ny.com/transportation/taxis.

Public Transportation:
From La Guardia or JFK:
take an airport shuttle bus to Grand Central Station. From Grand Central, take the 4, 5 or 6 subway to Union Square.

From Newark Airport:
Take the airport shuttle bus to Penn Station or Port Authority Bus Terminal. From there, take a taxi or subway (see a subway map; the N, R, or Q train goes to Union Square).

Driving to New York:
There are a number of ways to enter Manhattan; for the best directions from your current location, we recommend that you use an Internet mapping service, such as www.mapquest.com, or maps.yahoo.com. Type in the address of the Hebrew and Judaic Studies Department and you will get detailed directions on the best route.
